In today’s lesson, Richard continued working on film analysis using Rat Race. We focused on identifying a range of film techniques within the excerpt and connecting these techniques to the key themes and ideas presented in the film. Richard has built greater confidence in structuring PETAL paragraphs and is becoming more comfortable with moving beyond simply identifying techniques to analysing how they create meaning and communicate the film’s broader themes. He responded well to guidance throughout the lesson and was able to develop his analysis in greater depth. Overall, Richard made good progress today, and I look forward to continuing to build his analytical writing skills in future lessons.
